Motive Television has secured funding from the BAI Sound & Vision fund for three one-hour sports documentaries.

“The Biggest Game In Town” tells the story of Irish poker brat John O’Shea as he embarks on the most important 12months of his gambling career. Directed by Ross Whitaker we see a high stakes career where millions can be made but going broke is just a few bad hands away.

“Batmen” tells the history of Irish cricket and will be directed by award winning documentary maker Maurice Sweeney.

“When The Game Was Ours”, directed by IFTA winner Garry Keane explores a time in the mid 80′s when small town Ireland and black America collide as big time college basketballers were convinced to come to play in the west Ireland and all the madness that ensued.

All three programmes will be produced by Jamie D’Alton and Anne McLoughlin.
